A

according ?to the rules of the gospel, I do hereby
present to you, this my complaint against
Mehetabel Adams, a member of this Church
for offensive and unchristianlike conduct in
the particulars following. viz--

early part of June last, did in the highway near Mr
John Crocker, treat with abusive and reviling lan
guage, Jerusha Crocker, calling ?her a drunkard and
and a liar, thereby wounding the ?her feelings, and those
of her parents, and bringing a dishonor upon the
cause of religion.
2. That the said Mehetabel Adams did direct suffer her daughter
to chase injure the property of William Peters, and [torn ]
Morgan by directing her daughter to chase their [______]
through the streets, and by suffering her [geese?] to
lie in their pastures.
3. That she has at different times discovered a conten-
tious, unchristianlike and quarrelsome disposition,
in quarrelling with [Lurral?] Morgan particularly
in the month of June, and July or August last part, and
in said quarrels, that she did use indecent language,
and language highly abusive to Mr Peters, Susan Peters,
[Lurral?] Morgan & Lyman & Susan Williams.
4. That she did quarrel with Susan Peters, about the first
of September last, using passionate indecent and unbecoming
language.

complainant visited her, in company with one of
the Brethren of this church, not only treated him me with
neglect and contempt, but with passionate and abusive language.
All of which charges are contrary?to the plainest
precepts of the word of God, and dishonorable to
