Rev. Thomas Andros (1759-1845) was born in Norwich, Connecticut in 1759. He served in the Revolutionary War and was imprisoned on the HMS Jersey prison ship in New York Harbor. After the war, he studied for the ministry and was ordained as the minister in Berkley, Massachusetts in 1788. Andros died in 1845. He published several sermons during his lifetime, along with an autobiography of his imprisonment by the British during the war.
