Rev. Solomon Williams (1700-1776) was born in Hatfield, Massachusetts to Rev. William Williams and Christian Stoddard Williams. He graduated from Harvard in 1719 and was ordained as the minister of the First Congregational church in Lebanon, Connecticut in 1722. The following year he married Mary Porter. Williams served as the minister in Lebanon for over fifty years until his death in 1776. He published many sermons during his lifetime, including funeral and ordination sermons, and an election sermon in 1741. One of his sons, Eliphalet Williams, also became a Congregational minister.
