Rev. Paul Litchfield (1752-1827) was born in Scituate, Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard in 1775. In 1781, he was ordained as the first settled minister of the Congregational church in Carlisle, Massachusetts. Litchfield served as the minister at the Carlisle Congregational Church for over forty years until his death in 1827. He had one sermon published during his lifetime, which was delivered to the Massachusetts Missionary Society in 1805.
