Browse the John Tucker sermons

Rev. Dr. John Tucker (1719-1792) was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard in 1741. He was ordained as the minister of the First Church in Newbury, Massachusetts in 1745. He assisted Rev. Christopher Toppan, who had been minister there since 1696, until Toppan’s death in 1747. Tucker had several sermons published in his lifetime, including ordination sermons, an election sermon in 1771, and a Thanksgiving sermon.Tucker remained the minister in Newbury until his death in 1792.
