Rev. John Ballantine (1716-1776) was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard in 1735. He was ordained as the minister in Westfield, Massachusetts in 1741. He served as the minister there until his death in 1776. Ballantine published one sermon during his lifetime, an address to soldiers going to fight in the Seven Years’ War. His son William G. Ballantine also became a Congregational minister.
