Browse the Ebenezer Sparhawk sermons
Rev. Ebenezer Sparhawk (1738-1805) was born in Brighton, Massachusetts and graduated from Harvard in 1756. He was ordained as the minister of the Congregational church in Templeton, Massachusetts in 1761 and served there until his death in 1805. Sparhawk married Naomi Hill, the daughter of Rev. Abraham Hill, in 1773. Like his father-in-law, Sparhawk was suspected of being a Loyalist during the American Revolution. An ecclesiastical council in 1780 investigated his loyalties and other complaints and found in his favor.
