Rev. Ammi Ruhamah Robbins (1740-1813) was born in Branford, Connecticut and graduated from Yale in 1760. He was ordained as the first minister of the Congregational church in Norfolk, Connecticut in 1761 and served there until his death in 1813. Robbins married Elizabeth LeBaron, the sister of Rev. Lemuel LeBaron, and two of their sons, Thomas and Francis, became Congregational ministers. He published an election sermon to the General Assembly of Connecticut in 1789, as well as a half-century sermon in 1811.
