Description

These photographs depict the exterior and interior of the West Parish Church in West Barnstable, Massachusetts. The caption for the second image reads, "Meeting House of Church in West Barnstable, Mass., which claims to have been organized in London in 1616 and to be the oldest Congregational church in America." The caption for the third image reads, "Communion set belonging to Church in West Barnstable, Mass. The tankard is very old, and was brought by the church and its pastor from London in 1634." The pastor referenced is John Lathrop (1584-1653).
