Middleboro_SR2_028-001.docx Middleboro May 24 1747 at Sacrament as if She Shd Say o wt a happy revolutn is yr in my Soul wn my Lord comes & how happy is my frame So Long as he makes his abode wh me Cant: I 12 while ye king two things ye Spouse takes notice Sitteth at his table: my Spikenard of upon ye gracious return She had fr Sendeth forth ye Smell thereof cx one respects cx ye other her Self 1 ye Spouse mentions cxs presence wh among all ye pious & hnly Souls his pple under ye metaphor of a kings yt have been touchd wh ye Saving grace Sitting at his table of Gd yt have had a gospel discovery of wn a king comes to table tis an e= ye matchless beauty glory & grace of cx minent time for all his family to See & have experienced his gracious pre= him & if yy have eyes to See & look Sense & influence in any ordinances of at ye head of ye table no doubt yy will ye gospel yr are none but wt have get a Sight of him Something to Say in his Commendatn So wn cx Sits ye table of gospel ordi yy have Something to Say of cx yt yy nancs & furnishes it wh ye representatn Can Say of no other being al humane of hims: as ye mediator & Saviour of his & all Divine excellencis Shine in him pple yn & yr he is to be Seen he is ye king of kings ye Lord of Lords he ye table here Spoken of may refer is Gd & he is man & mediator he is all to any gospel ordinanc tho it ^dont exclude glorious & all gracious: his visits are his table in his kingdom of glory yet ye best visits yt can be paid to a pious it may more perticularly refer to these Souls & in a Special manner does it point & tho he dwells in ye highest hn us to ye Sacramental table or holy Supper yet he is to be Seen in ye ordinans of his yr cx is presentd in a most glorious of his grace by Sts on earth he comes manner yr he is to be Seen by his to & Sits wh ym wh yy do like loving little family children & obedient Subject gather indeed is to be Seen at his table al= round his Sacred ordinacs he is not way he Setteth in Some Sense Constantly far fr every one of ym nothing Shall but ye Spouse Speaks of cx Sitting yr So detain him fr paying ym a Royal & as to discover Show manifest hims: most gracious visit to ye Spiritual view of ye Soul & ye effects of his presence are very desireable Sweet & delightfull ye whole 2 She Speaks of ye happy effect upon Soul is put into a most Divine & hnly her own Soul of cxs discovering hims: posture all ye Sacrd fruits plantd in at his table my Spikenard Sendeth ye garden of ye [heart] do wake up glow re forth ye Smell yrof ie I feel a di= vive & send forth a most delicious Smell vine efflatus fr his presence wch or Savour in ye nostrils of ye holy God Sweeten my whole Soul & fires me & ys hnly frame Lasts as Long as ye glo= wh an unspeakable relish for cx universal rious king is graciously present as ye desire after & Love to him Spouse testifieth in ye text while &c fr ye 1st vrs to ye end of ye 7th ye Spouse Several noble effect it produces Speaks wr She makes some complaints 1 a high esteem of cxs person She calls of her blackness deformity darkness &c him king & also earnestly intreats her hnly brid= groom to be helpfull to her & lead 2 She owns ye table where cx Sits her to ye place of fellowship wh hims: to be his own fr ye 8th to ye end of ye 11 vrs cx Speaks no comfortable views are to be had & gives her a word of direction Com= of cx at ordinancs meerly of mans invent mendatn & comforts wch no doubt tion was very rejoycing & refreshing to See yt he took notice of her Suit & So Spe= 3 ys view of cx raises a Sacred & Sweet dily Came for her relief it raises a perfume in her Soul very high & Sweet resentment in ye Spouse She cant but take perticular notice of Spikenard is a Sweet-Scented plant ye blessd affects of drawing near to her & perhaps was ye principle ingredient wch She mentions in ye text while &c in ye precious box of ointment yt ye woman pourd on cx head ye Spouse no doubt intends by it ye Sweet plant of grace in her [heart]
