Sarah Lucas relation of faith, 1789

I desire to Bless god that it was my Lot to be Born in a Land of Gospel light and of Christian parents which Gave me Up to god in Baptism, Without much Regards to Gods Commands I went on in Sin, till about two years ago I heard a Sermon, from these words, he that Covereth his Sins Shall not prosper it seemed to me that I ware the Very person, the death of my Sister Soon After, it Seamed to bring me to See that I ware deeply Involvd in Sin, when my Husband was In Such Distress of mind, it put me in mind of my own Sin, I Saw I was a grate Sinner, I felt my heart Rise against god and all good, then did the sin of my hart appear more than ever, theire appeard nothing but the Britle thread of Life between me and Everlasting punishment, whilst in this Sittuation of mine the Justice of god more & more for three days togeather appeared Clearer & Clearer to me, I felt my Self To yeald up to god, I Could Say nothing but god be mercyfull to me a Sinner, then these words Come into my mind for my Son give me thy hart, then these words Came to me with a divine power, I am the one altogeather Lovely the Chiefest among ten thousands then it appeared to me, I had by faith a discovery of god the farther, Son and holy gooste it fild me with Such Joy [] as was Unspeakable and full of Glory, I Could Say nothing but Blessed be god the farther Son & holy Goste I desire to Join this Church, as I think my Dutey to ^Join Christ Visablee Church & pertake of his Ordinences, and If I have offended any I desire theire forgiveness, as I Desire to forgive any that have offended me, and As I hope to have forgiveness of god And Desire the prayers of this Churche for one that may walk Answerable to my profesion Sarah Lucas
