To the Je To Mr Jedediah Smith Pastor of ye Church of Christ in Granvilee Reverend ^and Beloved _______ The Petision and Praier of Phinehas Perkins of Gran Granville Humbly Sheweth ________ Whereas Sarah ___ Gibbins Wife to Peter Gibbins of Granville a member of this Church came to my house som time past and ___ there Voluntarily in ye hearing of my family Confessed shee had abused my self in Words & Speeches not felt to be used by any Professing Godliness and asked my forgiveness and promised Reformation Shee likewise for ye future, ^promisd, to forbear to abuse my self nor any of her good neighbours as shee had don in times past but Regardless of her former Promises shee latly in the hearing of Sarah Church and Michall Holcum denied shee had formerly made ^any acknowledgment to me and Cald me alying Bitch or lied like a Bitch,^ for so saying, which charge is to Greavious to be borne Especialy from one Professing godliness and a member of the Church of Christ Shee further Reported to ye Defemation of ^your paritioner that I stole ye Revnd Mr Smith Cheeses to a [illeg.] which shee could[illeg.]before[ ] Mr [Lord?] and his wife which they are Ready to testify Your Petioner Humbly Prais that ye affair may be lookd into and Examind by the Revnd Mr Smith and Committee and brought into Triall if they in their Wisdom shall think it fit and best so as to do Justice To your Humble Petitoner.
