The Relation of Maryann French My mind as first drawn up when we had a meeting at our house last may and mr F. asked ^me what I thougt about these things I told him I did not k[n]ow then he related to me the bush ^in the dessert and he comparred it to dry shrub which knew no good from when good comes this put me uppon thought whether I should no good when good cometh this began to impress my mind then I thought I would try to pray then I went away by myself and thought I would pray but could not Say one word then I thought no more aboute it and went on to Sin. I did not want to hear anything about religion I did not want to go to meeting becaus I felt a fraid some one would talk to me about things as I thought was of no consequence, then there was a meeting to Mr Sargente and I thought I would go becaus it was nigh and Mr H pute out this question. Adam whare arte though then I began to enquire whare I was I knew not whare I was but I thought I was in the broad road to destruction I knew not what to due every minute seem an hour to me I longe to have the mete meating done so I Coud go and pray to God I prayed but [--] I found no Comfort my harte found to be hard and desepperrately wicked I read my (ye) bible but it all seem to be against me then I went over to Mr D to meeting and mr G pute out this question have you an interrest in Christ then I began to reflect of my dangous situration and to think that I head no interest in Christ now my hart rose in emnerty to God I felt my selfe to be a lost undon sinner but God who is mercyfull and and able to bow the most stubborn hart has brought me to feel reconciled to do his will if God should despoes of me as he thought best I feel as if I could praise him forever for what he has allredy don for me whare I was blinde I now can see I now think it my duty to own Christ before men and to walk with his Church and people I now desire the prayers of this Church that I may not wound the Caus of Christ
