Betsey Wood relation of faith, 1813

About 45 years ago as I hope and trust my attention Was called up to attend to the concerns of my Immortal Soul I was led to consider of my past life Wich appeared to me verry Sinful and that I had Nothing to hope for; but ?had reason to fear immediate destruction I remained in this Situation Some days I think that I saw the justisce of god in my condemnation and though I had nothing to hope for; but reason to fear his wrath and Curse - I thought I must pray that god would have mercy on My poor Soul. thus I remained till all at once as I was Alone medItateing on my Sad case light inexpresible Broke in upon my mind Crist appeared all together lovely to me I thought I could ? praise him Should ?he Cast me of forever Since that time I have been much in the dark fearing I was deceived feeling my Self a poor unworthy Creature and not holly dependant on the mercy of god for everyfavour and I think it is my desire and prayer that god would Create within me a Clean heart and renew within me A write frame of Spirit that he would keep me from evil And lead me in the ways of truth and I ------------------------ ---------------------------------------------I think that I have A desire to join this church and live in obedience to his Commands and I ask your prayers for me that I may not be deceived -------- Betsey Wood
