Browse the Image Collection

The Image Collection is an intentional collection of images, prints, portraits, postcards, engravings and other visual materials broadly related to Congregationalists, Congregational churches, and Congregational institutions. The images in the collection are largely drawn from plates and engravings from books, newspapers, and magazines. The collection contains more than 1,300 unique items and the vast majority of the images in the collection are within the public domain. Many of the images within the collection were used throughout the publication history of The Congregationalist.

All of the images within the Image Collection are currently searchable through our online catalog. Searching for specific images may be best done through the catalog as the entirety of the Image Collection has yet to be migrated to the digital archive. The migration of the whole collection will be completed in parts throughout the remainder of 2022 and into 2023.
