The Congregational Church in Tamworth, New Hampshire was organized with nineteen members in 1792 when Rev. Samuel Hidden, a recent Dartmouth graduate, was ordained as the first settled minister. Rev. Hidden remained the minister until his death in 1837. The second minister in Tamworth was Rev. William Buffett. Buffett was ordained in 1837 and dismissed in 1842. The Tamworth Congregational Church is active today and is independent.
This collection contains one volume of church records which includes admissions, dismissions, disciplinary records, and meeting notes.
